Enough wilderness?! The US Forest Service's White Mountain National Forest (WMNF) has released their Forest Plan Revision which includes recommendations to Congress to designate two new areas as Wilderness. One is an expansion to the Sandwich Range Wilderness, the other would be a new Wild River Wilderness. How much Congressionally-designated Wilderness in the WMNF do we need? How much is enough? What are the main reasons for adding more Wilderness? Who's asking for it? What are the down sides? I see a lot of organizations asking for Wilderness, and others saying they are pleased with the Forest Plan overall. But nobody seems to be asking these questions. (Comment on this)
